National Smile Month runs from 16th May to 16th June and is the UK’s largest and longest-running campaign to promote good oral health.
Together with thousands of individuals and organisations, National Smile Month highlights three key messages, all of which go a long way in helping us develop and maintain a healthy mouth. They are:
At Smile Concepts we are dedicated to improving oral health not just in our patients but we are also passionate about educating our local community. Over the years we have visited local schools, care homes and community centres to help raise awareness of the importance or good oral hygiene and diet.
With the subject of the amount of sugar in the food and drinks that we consume being such a hot topic we have put together a display to demonstrate the extent of hidden sugars in some types of food; this is proving very popular and is helping our patients engage with the message that we all need to cut down on the amount of sugar in our diet.
Poor oral health doesn’t just cause problems inside the mouth there is now evidence that links poor oral health to some general health problems; for example diabetes, heart disease, strokes and premature babies.
A smile is hugely important to our personalities, self-confidence and success. If you would like to improve your smile, cosmetic dentistry could be the answer. We have a number of ways of correcting your smile. Two of our most popular treatments are tooth whitening and ClearCorrect®.
