Clear Braces

Clear braces aren’t just for children ; they can improve an adult smile too.

Healthy teeth can be moved at any age and it is a great time to consider orthodontic treatment to straighten your teeth and improve your smile. Clear braces are not just for teenagers, many adults now opt for the transparent aligners. There are several choices for clear braces today with the advancement of dental technology, and treatment times to straighten teeth are becoming shorter and more affordable.

Common reasons for requiring aligners can include; overcrowded teeth, crooked teeth, gaps in the teeth, overbite, underbite or a crossbite. Orthodontic care can help to restore the correct function of the teeth and preserve the health of the mouth and teeth, facilitating speech and improving a person’s smile.

Clear braces work by applying a constant, gentle pressure to the teeth which over time moves the teeth into a better position. The traditional method of metal train track braces are still popular but many adults are opting for almost invisible teeth straighteners such as Invisalign or ClearCorrect® products.

Invisalign®

If you’re still apprehensive, Invisalign® may change the way you think about clear braces.

When choosing this clear braces solution, you will be assessed and a digital scan of your teeth taken. This data is then sent to Invisalign and together we come up with a dental care plan that is unique to you.

Invis-align-ers are custom made for your teeth and mouth using crystalline medical grade plastic. A series of almost invisible aligners are created ready for you to wear for two weeks during which time your teeth will move a little, towards the projected final position.

You will visit us here in Solihull for regular check ups on progress. Your transparent teeth straighteners are discrete and offer you the chance to smile with more confidence.

ClearCorrect®

A more affordable alternative is ClearCorrect® clear braces, relatively new to the UK.

An effective alternative that usually has lower costs which can be passed on to the patient but this can all be discussed at your assessment.

For simple cases this dental treatment can take up to three months, and for moderate cases up to six months. You will need an assessment with our specialist to choose the correct course of care.

ClearCorrect will then be able to create an interactive treatment set-up which will show the potential outcome, and how many stages are required to achieve this. Read the FAQs.

Both Invisalign® and ClearCorrect® are brands. They are both super clear braces used to straighten teeth. They have small design differences. The Invisalign® aligner is trimmed to follow the gum line, whereas the ClearCorrect® aligner is trimmed higher up.

To choose the very best type of clear braces or comprehensive fixed ones do depend on patient preference, but also it may depend on the type of tooth movements that are needed. This would be determined at the assessment.
