Following graduation Robert spent 8 years in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training positions. He is recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Oral Surgery.
In 2001 he completed an MSC in Implant Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London with distinction.
Since 2003 Robert has been working as Clinical Lecturer in Dental Implantology at Cardiff Dental Hospital. The post involves the teaching of implant treatments to postgraduate students.
Robert has helped set up dental implant teaching courses and bone grafting courses at the University of Wales.
Since 2005, Robert has also worked as an Associate Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick lecturing on advanced implant techniques.
He has lectured nationally and internationally on the surgical aspects of dental implantology. His particular area of interest is the reconstruction of missing bone and gum tissue as part of implant treatment. This involves bone grafting, guided bone regeneration and soft tissue grafting. This is aimed at improving the cosmetic results of dental implant treatment.
His work has been featured nationally on programs including “10 years younger”.
Robert joined the team at Smile Concepts, in Solihull, Birmingham in 2009, as specialist oral surgery service including dental implant surgery, bone grafting / guided bone regeneration for dental implants, sinus grafting procedures.
